Ring OuzelA shy, rare migrant found in moorland habitats in summer, arriving in April and leaving in September. It resembles a blackbird in size, shape and colour, both sexes are black or very dark brown with a white crescent shaped collar at the front of the neck. Not an easy bird to see in this region but can be seen in upland areas when out walking. They feed on insects, worms and berries and nest in rock crevices and dry stane dykes.
